'Either explain the rules or don't do it' - Ranieri slams VAR as Roma unbeaten streak ends
Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has expressed frustration over the VAR's decision not to award a penalty in favor of his team during their 2-1 defeat to Atalanta.
In his post-match interview, Ranieri questioned the consistency of VAR decisions, citing a perceived inconsistency in the application of the rules.
Ranieri specifically pointed to the incident involving Mario Pasalic and Manu Kone, where he believed a penalty should have been awarded.
"You can clearly see that Pasalic touched my player's knee," Ranieri said. "Either they explain to us how we have to comply, or you can't do it once yes or no."
The loss not only ended Roma's 19-match unbeaten run but also dented their hopes of climbing into the top four.
Despite the defeat, Ranieri praised his team's efforts and congratulated Atalanta on their Champions League qualification.
