Former referee Burrull on Tchouameni’s foul on Ferran: 'Not a red card. The Barcelona player didn’t control the ball.'
16
Ex-referee Alfonso Perez Burrull has commented on the controversial moment involving Aurelien Tchouameni in El Clasico, where Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4–3 in La Liga’s 35th round.
In the 36th minute, with Tchouameni playing in central defense, he pushed Barcelona winger Ferran Torres in the back as the latter was sprinting toward Madrid’s penalty area. Ferran fell to the ground, and referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez showed Tchouameni a yellow card.
Burrull explained:
“A push like that deserves a yellow card. It’s not a red.
The Barcelona player didn’t have control of the ball.”
