PSG claim Kylian Mbappe owes club €98 million in damages

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have requested the Paris Court to annul a precautionary seizure of €55 million placed by former player Kylian Mbappe.

The seizure, obtained by Mbappé in early April, relates to unpaid salaries and bonuses from his time at the club.

PSG's lawyers argue that Mbappe "did not provide sufficient proof of an appearance of debt and failed to demonstrate any threat to recovery."

The club has also filed a counterclaim of €98 million, asserting that Mbappé owes PSG money due to alleged delaying tactics that caused harm.

However, Mbappe's lawyer disputes PSG's claims, citing a lack of transparency in the club's accounts and questioning the existence of a verbal agreement that PSG claims was made in the summer of 2023.

The agreement, according to PSG, stipulated that Mbappé would forfeit a portion of the sums owed to him to preserve the club's financial health.

The case will continue on May 26, with the outcome closely watched by the football community.
