'They are in a really good position to be in': Gary Neville on Liverpool's transfer edge over rivals after early title win
Liverpool’s early Premier League title triumph could hand them a major edge in the upcoming transfer window, according to former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.
With four games to spare, the Reds were crowned champions, allowing them a rare luxury in modern football - time to plan. While English clubs continue battling for Champions League qualification, Liverpool have already turned their attention to next season.
"Liverpool are in a really good position to be in. I said during the game the planning can begin now. But there’s no doubt the planning behind the scenes would have been started before now by the people in the sporting department.
"But to include your manager when you're going for a title is difficult because you want him to keep his focus. But now they can really get into the planning two or three weeks before because they’ve done so well to win the tie," Neville has said.
