Amorim funds trip to Europa League final for 30 Man United staff and families

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has paid for 30 members of his backroom staff to take their families to the Europa League final in Bilbao, Spain, after the club informed them they would have to purchase their own tickets.

United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the final on May 21, with the winner earning a spot in next season's Champions League.

The club's decision to limit staff tickets and not cover travel costs for family members has been contrasted with other clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain, who confirmed they would pay for 600 staff members to attend their Champions League final.

Amorim, however, stepped in to reward his support team, including low-paid staff, for their hard work during a challenging six months at the club.

According to sources, Amorim brought several staff members from his previous club Sporting CP to Manchester United and values his team's dedication.

The club's cost-cutting measures, which include axing up to 200 jobs at Old Trafford, have led to the limited ticket allocation for staff.

Amorim's gesture ensures his staff can attend the final with their loved ones, despite the club's financial constraints.
