Man City 'submit' bid for Wirtz, Leverkusen deny agreement with Bayern

Manchester City have reportedly submitted a bid for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, according to Sport Bild.

The Premier League champions are said to be targeting the German playmaker as a potential replacement for Kevin de Bruyne, with Leverkusen reportedly seeking a €150m transfer fee.

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has denied reports of an agreement with Bayern Munich for Wirtz's transfer, stating that the club is in daily contact with the player and his parents.

Carro added that no offers have been received from any clubs, and Wirtz's contract runs until 2027.

Kicker claims Wirtz is in talks with Manchester City, and the club's financial capabilities could give them an edge in the pursuit of the 22-year-old.

Wirtz has reportedly expressed a preference to move abroad, and City's bid could potentially sway Leverkusen to sell to the Premier League side rather than strengthening a Bundesliga rival.
