Monaco willing to sell Akliouche for €70 million, but Maghnes doesn’t want to leave

This Ligue 1 season hasn’t only been lit up by Ousmane Dembele and Rayan Cherki — 23-year-old Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche has also made a strong impression. A product of Monaco’s academy, he has recorded 5 goals and 10 assists in 31 league matches, and also delivered standout performances in the Champions League. His rise led many to believe he would move to a bigger club this summer.

Last year, both PSG and Manchester City showed interest in Akliouche, and now, according to FootMercato, Manchester United have joined the race.

Monaco are reportedly open to a transfer and have set a price tag of around €70 million (likely including bonuses), consistent with their strategy of selling academy talents at a profit.

However, after Monaco beat Lyon last matchday — securing Champions League qualification while likely denying Lyon a European spot — Akliouche stated he doesn’t want to leave:

"I have a contract with Monaco that I recently extended because I’m more than happy at the club. I currently have regular playing time, I’ve earned a spot on the France U21 team, and next season we’ll be in the Champions League again! Of course I hope to stay at Monaco next season — why not?"

Still, there’s speculation that both the club and the player might be strategically boosting his market value. Akliouche’s price could rise further if Monaco beat Lens in the final Ligue 1 round and Marseille fail to defeat Rennes — which would place Monaco just behind PSG in the final standings.
