Top 5 European leagues agree on simultaneous transfer window closure

The top five European football leagues have agreed to align their summer transfer window deadlines, according to ESPN.

As reported, clubs in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 will have until 7 p.m. UK (8 p.m. CET; 2 p.m. ET) to lodge transfers on deadline day.

This summer will feature two transfer windows.

The first will run from June 1 to 10, allowing teams participating in the Club World Cup to sign players and bring back loaned players before the tournament.

The second window will open on June 16 in England and July 1 in other leagues, with all windows closing simultaneously on September 1.

Currently, leagues have agreed that both the summer and winter transfer windows will close in the evening.
