Leverkusen MD on reported Liverpool interest in Frimpong: 'We're not aware'

Bayer Leverkusen's managing director Fernando Carro has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong has a release clause in his contract, but dismissed rumors of an imminent move to Liverpool.

Carro stated that while Frimpong does have a release clause, the club is not aware of any club preparing to pay the fee.

The release clause is reportedly triggered at around the £30m mark, and Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Frimpong following Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to leave the club.

However, Carro downplayed the speculation, saying that rumors often surprise him and it's difficult to determine their origin.

"Jeremie Frimpong has a long contract with us, he also has a release clause, but we are not aware of a move at the moment," Carro said in an interview with German publication Sport.

The Leverkusen MD's comments suggest that any potential move for Frimpong is still uncertain, despite reports of Liverpool's interest.
