'Not many people would turn that down' - Walker on Trent's Real Madrid move
Kyle Walker has shared his thoughts on Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to leave Liverpool and join Real Madrid.
The Manchester City defender, currently on loan at AC Milan, believes Alexander-Arnold would have faced a tough decision, but ultimately, the opportunity to play for Real Madrid would be hard to resist.
"When Real Madrid come knocking at the door, there are not many people who would turn that down," Walker said on The Kyle Walker Podcast.
"For Trent, it would have been a very tough decision because I know the love that he has for not just the club but the city."
Walker praised Alexander-Arnold's dedication to Liverpool, where he has played since he was six, and wished him well in his new chapter.
"The servant he has been for the club, for the trophies he has won, the player he has become, me personally, you have to say thank you and wish him all the best on his next chapter."
Alexander-Arnold's departure from Liverpool was met with boos from fans during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal, highlighting the strong emotions surrounding his exit. Walker suggested that Alexander-Arnold might feel he has achieved everything at Liverpool and is ready for a new challenge.
As Alexander-Arnold departs Liverpool as a Premier League champion, Walker hopes he will replicate his success at Real Madrid.
"You have to wish him all the best and hopefully he goes and produces what he has produced at Real Madrid."
