Jacobo Ramon was the unlikely goalscorer and matchwinner for Real Madrid in their 2-1 win against Mallorca earlier on Wednesday night.
Here's a full excerpt of Jacobo explaining his first-ever senior goal for Real Madrid, how it felt and what it means to him.
“I saw a cross, they combed it, I thought it was going to go there and I don't know how, but I put it in,” Ramon said.
On scoring at the Bernabeu, Ramon said:
“It's impressive. I never would have imagined it, especially at the time it happened. It's a huge honour, and I hope many more come. It was my first start here. At first, I was a little nervous, but as the minutes went by, I felt better. The ending explains itself. I'm very happy.”
Ramon explained how Real Madrid players treated him after the goal.
“They are the best in the world, and having them come and congratulate you is an inexplicable feeling.”
"Mallorca is a good team. They scored the first goal and fell back a bit, but we had plenty of chances. The goalkeeper had a great game, but we managed to win in the end," Ramon concludes.
