Rafa Yuste, FC Barcelona’s sporting vice president, praised the club’s young squad and the role of La Masia following their recent LaLiga triumph. Speaking on Cadena SER’s ‘Que t’hi jugues’, Yuste highlighted the confidence that coach Hansi Flick has instilled in the players.

“What Hansi and his staff have done this year is give the players a sense of security,” Yuste said. “I did not expect such an incredible result from these very young players. Everyone will agree it was very difficult. These youngsters really exploded this year and that made a huge difference.”

Yuste also stressed the importance of La Masia, calling it “the backbone of this club” and “non-negotiable.”

“We have to keep investing in La Masia, but especially by having coaches who believe in the players and give them playing time,” he added.

On Flick’s contribution, Yuste joked the coach “deserves two Creus de Sant Jordi.”

Regarding next season, Yuste emphasised stability: “The priority is to maintain what we have because we have a great base.”

He also pointed to the symbolic image of Alejandro Casado at Canaletes as representing “the cule spirit that this team has.”

Speaking to TV3, Yuste described the league as “a league of youngsters with a touch of veterans,” singling out “Lamine Yamal” as a standout performer.
