Liverpool have yet to reach an agreement with Ibrahima Konate, whose contract runs until June 2026, over a new deal, despite talks once progressing positively earlier in the season.
According to Fabrizio Romano negotiations were close to completion around October and November, but new complications have since emerged, shifting the terms and delaying any breakthrough.
The uncertainty around Konate’s future has alerted several top European clubs - most notably Real Madrid. The Spanish giants remain keen to bolster their defensive options within the next year or two, and Konate is understood to be one of the names on their radar.
