25
Joan Laporta has officially announced he will run again for president of Barcelona. He wants to continue the project that saved the club from collapse.
Laporta told RAC1 after Barcelona won La Liga: "We have saved the club and this project deserves to continue."
He said this La Liga title, Barcelona’s 28th, was the hardest to win. "It was against all odds and against everyone," Laporta said.
Laporta praised manager Hansi Flick’s first season. "He is having one of the most beautiful seasons of his career. He is disciplined, rigorous, and sensitive," he said.
On Flick’s future, Laporta added: "We have already talked about it. Deco will finalise it, and we will soon announce Flick’s continuation. He wants to renew year after year."
