FC Köln secure Bundesliga return as second division champions
FC Köln have sealed their return to the Bundesliga as 2. Bundesliga champions after a dominant 4-0 win over Kaiserslautern, combined with Hamburg’s 3–2 loss to Greuther Fürth.
Eric Martel and Luca Waldschmidt gave Köln a 2–0 lead within 30 minutes, while late goals from Florian Kainz and Mark Uth sealed the result.
The club returns to the top flight just one year after relegation.
Hamburg also go up, while Elversberg will face Heidenheim in the Bundesliga promotion playoff.
