'Madrid, bastards, salute the champions' – Barcelona fans chant after title win despite Villarreal loss
10
Barcelona fans have chanted an offensive slogan about Real Madrid during celebrations at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Although Barcelona had already clinched the La Liga title earlier, they lost 2–3 to Villarreal in Matchday 37.
After the game, the Blaugrana celebrated their championship on the pitch, with players and head coach Hansi Flick showing off the trophy to fans.
At one point, the stadium echoed with a well-known chant directed at their arch-rivals: "Madrid, bastards, salute the champions."
This same chant was picked up by Fermin Lopez during the title parade on May 16, and fellow midfielder Marc Casado added another provocation: "Whoever’s not jumping is a Madridista."
