'I believe even Marseille's fans are behind PSG': Sports Minister Marie Barsacq on Champions League final
French Sports Minister Marie Barsacq has expressed hope that the nation, including Olympique Marseille fans, will rally behind Paris Saint-Germain for the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31 in Munich.
Speaking on Sport.fr, the minister under Francois Bayrou’s government didn’t hide her excitement about PSG’s achievement. She called for unity, extending her message to Marseille supporters:
"We can be proud to have a club at this level. I believe all French people are behind PSG, maybe even the Marseillais - I hope so." Barsacq added, "Having a team at this stage shows French football isn’t in decline. A victory would be the best response and the greatest news for French football."
