Jurrien Timber to undergo minor ankle surgery
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is set to undergo a minor operation on his ankle, the club has confirmed.
The 23-year-old Netherlands international will join a list of Arsenal players who have required surgery this season, including Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Ben White.
Timber, who has played a significant role for Arsenal this campaign due to injuries to other defenders, has featured in several key matches, including the Champions League quarter- and semi-finals against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
He sustained the ankle issue during Arsenal's 2-1 win over Fulham on April 1 and has been rested in recent weeks.
The defender's recovery timeline has not been specified, but his absence could impact Arsenal's preparations for the upcoming international break.
Timber is eligible to represent the Netherlands in their World Cup qualifiers against Finland on June 7 and Malta on June 10.
Arsenal concluded their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United, securing Champions League qualification.
Their final league match is against Southampton on Sunday.
