Kompany is keen to extend Sane’s contract due to his high quality and lower injury risk compared to Coman or Gnabry - reports
Just weeks ago, it seemed Leroy Sane was on the verge of extending his expiring contract with FC Bayern.
However, a sudden twist emerged when the 29-year-old switched agents, reshuffling the deck entirely - Sane is now unwilling to accept Bayern’s current offer.
According to tz, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany is keen to retain Sane. The Belgian manager appreciates Sane’s availability and lower injury risk compared to Kingsley Coman or Serge Gnabry. He also values Sane’s sprinting ability, even in reverse, as a key asset.
Moreover, replacing Sane would be costly, with the combined transfer fee and salary for a new winger exceeding the expense of extending Sane’s deal.
