However, Modric will reduce his salary in order to remain at the club.
The Croatian legend will ultimately become the oldest player ever to play for Real Madrid, as he will continue playing for the club well into his 40s.
Despite his age, Modric is one of the few Madrid players who never got injured during the season.
He has also played 55 matches, the most games he has played during his career.
