Mac Allister ruled out of Liverpool's last game
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that midfielder Alexis Mac Allister will not play in the team's final game of the season against Crystal Palace due to a fitness issue.
Mac Allister has been dealing with the problem for some time, leading to his absence from the squad for Monday's match against Brighton and limited playing time in recent games against Chelsea and Arsenal.
Slot explained that Mac Allister needs rest to recover and be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season.
"Alexis will not play for us this season anymore. He needs rest at this moment in time to recover completely and to be ready for the start of next season," Slot said.
The coach praised Mac Allister's determination, noting that he played through the issue with an "Argentinian mentality" of never giving up.
However, Slot emphasized that it's not worth risking the player's health, ensuring Mac Allister will be fit for the new season.
