Manchester City to give De Bruyne fitting farewell

Manchester City will bid farewell to departing midfielder Kevin De Bruyne after his final home game against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

The Belgian star announced last month that he will leave City after 10 incredible years when his contract expires at the end of the season.

De Bruyne, 33, has amassed an impressive 16 trophies since joining City from Wolfsburg in 2015, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.

Despite missing out on a dream finish in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, De Bruyne's contributions to City's success will be celebrated in his farewell ceremony.

After the match against Bournemouth, De Bruyne will be given a guard of honor by his teammates and coaches.

He will deliver a short speech on the pitch, receive gifts from the family of the late Colin Bell, and take a lap of appreciation with the players.

While manager Pep Guardiola hasn't confirmed De Bruyne's starting role against Bournemouth, he praised De Bruyne's legacy, saying, "Kevin will get what he deserves.

"That is the best compliment for his incredible trajectory."

De Bruyne's final game for City is likely to be the trip to Fulham on Sunday, although he "probably" won't participate in City's upcoming Club World Cup campaign due to potential injury concerns and his impending departure.
