Roma to pay €2m to PSG after Leandro Paredes’ game against Milan - reports
Leandro Paredes’ performance in AS Roma’s 3-1 win against AC Milan on Sunday night triggered a clause in his transfer from PSG to Roma, requiring the Italian club to pay €2 million to the Parisians.
According to reports from Culture PSG, PSG negotiated this lucrative clause when Paredes left permanently for Roma, stipulating that Roma must pay the sum if the Argentine reaches 80 appearances under their colors within his first two years.
Aware of this, Roma had benched the World Cup winner for four consecutive matches. However, coach Claudio Ranieri, growing impatient, brought Paredes on, who scored a stunning free kick for Roma’s second goal, securing the victory.
As a result, Roma (5th with 66 points) remain in contention for Champions League qualification next season, needing a win against Torino in the final matchday and a Juventus slip-up (currently 5th with 67 points).
Despite the €2 million cost to PSG, Roma won’t regret the decision.
