'Two very good teams wanting to play football' - Slot praises Brighton after defeat
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised the high-quality football displayed in his team's 3-2 defeat to Brighton.
Slot commended both teams for their approach, saying, "Two very good teams wanting to play football, not time wasting, no diving."
He noted that momentum shifted in the game, and Liverpool's failure to capitalize on scoring opportunities ultimately cost them.
"We waited for us to score the third, that would have killed the game, but they made it 2-2," Slot told BBC Match of the Day.
He emphasized the importance of converting chances at this level, highlighting a blocked shot by Federico Chiesa and a missed opportunity by Mohamed Salah.
Slot acknowledged the strength of the Premier League, citing Brighton's ability to bring on Kaoru Mitoma, who made an impact.
"We played eighth in the Premier League, and they were able to bring in Mitoma. That shows you about the strength of this league," he said.
Slot stressed that Liverpool cannot afford to miss chances if they want to win games, especially away from home.
