Michael Edwards to travel to US for crucial talks with FSG on Florian Wirtz signing - Bild
Liverpool’s interest in Florian Wirtz has reached a critical phase, with Michael Edwards flying to the United States to meet club owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and seek final approval for a blockbuster €150 million move, according to Bild.
The high-priority meeting will come just days after the Wirtz family's visit to England, which triggered a short-notice internal summit among Liverpool directors. Edwards is now personally presenting the case to FSG, highlighting years of scouting data and strategic value to justify the massive investment.
Liverpool view this summer as the perfect opportunity to move, with Bayern Munich also circling but currently unwilling to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s valuation. Bayern are prepared to offer €100m, significantly less than the €150m asking price. Both clubs have indicated they are willing to wait until 2026 for Wirtz’s transfer if a deal cannot be reached.
