Barcelona drop Neymar plans over physical concerns and trust Lamine Yamal for future - reports
Barcelona have reportedly decided against bringing Neymar back to the club. His injury record and the rise of Lamine Yamal are the main reasons behind the decision.
According to SPORT, “Barca have definitively ruled out the return of the Brazilian due to his repeated injuries and the emergence of Lamine Yamal, who will be the new superstar at the Spotify Camp Nou.”
The same report explained that president Joan Laporta had seriously considered the move during the season: “The idea of signing Neymar Jr. this summer was not just media speculation. It was a real possibility backed by Joan Laporta.”
Neymar was open to joining as a free agent after his contract with Santos ends on 30 June. But report revealed the club had doubts over his fitness: “Since joining Santos in February from Al Hilal, he has spent more time injured than playing.”
