Cristiano Ronaldo suspends contract talks with Al-Nassr

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the extension of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr is now in doubt — the Portuguese star has postponed the verbal agreement that, just a few weeks ago, seemed nearly signed.

Sources close to the situation say Ronaldo and Al-Nassr had reached a verbal agreement to extend their partnership until 2026. The deal would include a staggering salary of €200 million per season and aligned perfectly with the forward’s plans to play in the next World Cup. However, everything changed after Al-Nassr’s painful elimination from the AFC Champions League at the hands of Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.

The defeat shocked the club and sparked new doubts about its immediate future. Following this, Ronaldo asked to delay the signing of the contract. The reason — disappointment over the lack of progress and doubts about the club’s sporting project. The star forward is no longer confident in Al-Nassr’s prospects, although the official offer remains on the table. Ronaldo is demanding clear guarantees regarding the club’s ambitions. At 40 years old, he has no intention of settling for mediocrity — he wants to be part of a team capable of fighting for titles both domestically and in Asia.

It’s worth noting that this season, Ronaldo has scored 33 goals and provided 4 assists in 39 matches for Al-Nassr in all competitions.
