'Not dependent on one player': Luis Enrique praises PSG's improved efficiency without Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has praised his team's improved efficiency since the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid last summer.

Despite Mbappe's significant contribution to the team during his time at PSG, Enrique believes that the team has become more effective without him.

"We scored more goals than last season, and more players provided assists," Enrique said in a press conference.

"Our numbers are exceptional. To achieve this, our players need to get the ball to whoever is best positioned."

Enrique highlighted the team's ability to share goals and assists, saying that he was "very happy not to be dependent on just one player."

He also emphasized that PSG was always a "real team," even with Mbappe, and that they had reached the Champions League semi-final last season.

However, Enrique credited the team's recent success to a change in efficiency, with players finding better positions in the box and contributing to the team's improved statistics.

"We've gone from lamentable statistics to the best in Europe," he said. "It's the same version of the team but with efficiency."

With PSG on the verge of completing a potential European and domestic treble, Enrique's comments suggest that the team has adapted well to life without Mbappe and is now more formidable than ever
