Barcelona reportedly monitor Monaco wingers Ben Seghir and Akliouche as wing reinforcements
Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona are actively following the development of two promising Monaco wingers, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Magnes Akliouche, as part of their plans to strengthen the squads options on the flanks ahead of next season.
Ben Seghir, a 20-year-old Moroccan international who plays predominantly as a left winger, fits the profile Barcelona seeks to increase attacking threat down the left side. Meanwhile, Akliouche, a 23-year-old French winger often deployed on the right, offers a complementary option.
Both players impressed Barcelona's technical staff during the 2024 Trofeu Gamper, where Monaco defeated Barcelona 3-0, and again in the opening match of the current Champions League season, which Monaco won 2-1 with Akliouche scoring.
Ben Seghir spoke highly of Akliouche last October, telling L'Equipe that he sees his teammate as a player capable of joining either Barcelona or Real Madrid, praising his style as ideal for La Liga.
"I dont know if hes more of a Real Madrid or Barca player, but I hope to see him at one of these big clubs," Ben Seghir said. He also shared that he grew up watching Barcelona, fascinated by their style of play.
Both wingers boast strong statistics this season: Ben Seghir has scored 9 goals and assisted 4 in 46 appearances, while Akliouche has 7 goals and 12 assists in 43 games, underlining their potential value as attacking reinforcements.
Barcelona continue to monitor the duo closely as the club considers its options to boost wing depth in the squad.
