PSG secure young goalkeeper Renato Marin on five-year deal - reports

Le Parisien reports that PSG have taken an important step in their planned goalkeeper overhaul by securing the signing of Renato Marin, an 18-year-old shot-stopper from AS Roma’s reserve team. The Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper, who was born in Sao Paulo, will join the French champions on 1 July 2025, signing a contract that will keep him at the club for the next five years.

Marin, an Italian under-19 international, joined Roma’s youth academy in 2022 and is highly rated for his potential. His arrival is seen as a key part of PSG’s strategy to refresh their goalkeeping options ahead of the busy summer transfer window.

With Marin’s contract beginning this summer, PSG will have five goalkeepers under professional contract, including established names such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matvey Safonov, Arnau Tenas, and Lucas Lavallee, who returns from loan at Aubagne.

The club is also dealing with the uncertain future of vice-captain Donnarumma, whose contract runs until 2026. Negotiations on an extension are currently stalled, and PSG has shown interest in Lille’s Lucas Chevalier as a possible alternative. Marin’s arrival highlights PSG’s commitment to investing in young talent for the future of the club.
