Hansi Flick on youth call-ups: ‘I like what I saw’
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has suggested that two promising youth players, Juan Hernandez and Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, are likely to be involved in the club’s upcoming pre-season preparations.
Both 17-year-olds, Hernandez (a midfielder) and Fernandez (an attacker), have recently been promoted to first-team training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, impressing the coaching staff with their performances.
Speaking at his final pre-match press conference of the season on Saturday, Flick confirmed his positive impression of the young duo.
“Looking ahead to pre-season, we’ll see how things develop. What I saw from these lads (Juan and Dro) in today’s session I really liked,” Flick said.
The coach’s comments indicate a growing trust in Barca’s youth ranks, with Hernandez and Fernandez poised to challenge for places as the club prepares for the new campaign.
