Real Madrid reach 50 injuries this season as Brahim Diaz joins list with thigh problem

Real Madrid’s injury woes continue to mount, even in matches without competitive tension. The club has now recorded 50 injuries this season, mostly muscular, highlighting an ongoing physical crisis affecting the squad.

The latest setback came during the recent game against Real Sociedad, when Brahim Diaz had to be substituted in the 55th minute due to a muscle injury in his left thigh. Brahim had started the match wearing a large bandage as a precaution after previous issues dating back to the clash against Barcelona at Montjuic, which had also forced him to miss the Mallorca game.

Despite these concerns, Brahim was part of the starting eleven and had been one of the most active attacking players, frequently linking up with Kylian Mbappe in his quest for the Golden Boot. However, shortly after the second half began, Brahim was forced off the pitch following a sudden muscular problem. He left the field to applause from the Bernabeu crowd, recognising his important contributions during the season, particularly in the Champions League.

So far this season, only Arda Guler and Luka Modric have avoided injury, underlining the depth of the squad’s fitness challenges as Real Madrid look ahead to the final stages of the campaign.
