Rodrygo expected to miss Brazil call-up due to form and fatigue – reports
Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is not expected to be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s first Brazil squad, according to Tati Mantovani.
The 24-year-old has endured a difficult end to the season at club level, struggling with fitness issues, inconsistent form and increasing speculation over his future in Madrid. He has scored just once since January, with his performances reportedly falling short of the standard expected at both club and international level.
According to Mantovani, Ancelotti — who is set to take charge of Brazil after concluding his duties with Real Madrid — is unlikely to select Rodrygo in his maiden national team squad. The decision is said to be influenced not only by the forward’s recent form, but also concerns over physical and mental fatigue.
Rodrygo has been a key part of Ancelotti’s side at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his downturn in performances and overall exhaustion have led to a reassessment of his immediate international role. Brazil are preparing for a new era under the Italian tactician, who will take over from Fernando Diniz.
The decision is not believed to be permanent, but rather a short-term step as Rodrygo recovers and regains confidence ahead of the new season.
