Spanish media: Madrid are reportedly in talks with Icardi's agent
- According to Libertad Digital, Los Blancos are in Rome to discuss the Argentina international's potential move with his wife-agent
- Real Madrid, however, are reportedly not particularly interested in the striker
Mauro Icardi has long been linked with Real Madrid. Los Blancos consider him to be Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement. And on Thursday evening Spanish news outlet Libertad Digital made a shocking claim that the capital club's representatives have held talks with Icardi and his wife-agent Wanda Nara in Rome.
However, the same report continues with the fact that Real Madrid are not interested in the 25-year-old striker rather than it's his agent who keeps pushing for the deal. Moreover, the transfer will be very difficult to orchestrate as Icardi won't come cheaply since his €110m release clause expired this summer.
Icardi scored 29 Serie A goals last season and is currently Inter's captain. The Milan-based club's chief executive Alessandro Antonello has recently insisted Icardi is not for sale and will renew with the Nerazzurri: "Icardi is the captain of Inter and there's a contract in place."
