- Danny Ings has joined Southampton on a one-year loan with an automatical purchase option to be activated on next summer
- He leaves the club as a friend and as a fan
“I want to thank everybody at Liverpool FC for welcoming me into the family and being there for me through the tough and the good times. I wish you all the success in the future and I’ll miss you all. YNWA,” he said on social media.
Upon arriving at Southampton Ings noted:
“It feels great. Obviously travelling down it felt kind of strange at first! I’m over the moon to come home and be close to my family.
“Everyone was aware of my situation at Liverpool. I found it very difficult last season after my injuries. When this football club came up, I had to take the opportunity to come home. It’s a fantastic football club who play great football and I’m just happy here. I felt it was time to start a new journey for me. I want to test myself and I feel fit and ready to go. I want to show the country what I’m about again.”
