Marca writers debate whether Vinicius Jr. deserves more playing time
Five of MARCA's writers debate, presenting their arguments for why the Brazilian should or shouldn't be featuring more frequently in Julen Lopetegui starting XI.
Jose Luis Calderon: Yes
"It's a matter of motivation and of finding a stimulus. At a time when Real Madrid aren't functioning, Vinicius Junior can be the spark to get the team going. Whether because he's new or because of his speed and dribbling, he is a weapon Lopetegui has to use."

Miguel Angel Lara: No
"All we've seen of him are a couple of sudden outings against Atletico Madrid and Alaves. Lopetegui shouldn't be under suspicion for not promoting talent and youth, as he has demonstrated this whether he has gone. If he is limiting playing time then it'll be because he has his reasons."
Pablo Polo: Yes
"It wouldn't be strange for him to play more given that he has only had 12 minutes. To play less would be impossible. He may not be ready to be a starter, but he can help. Maybe it'd be a 'no' if Real Madrid were unstoppable and steamrolling teams, but they're not and there's a need to find solutions. He is one."
Santiago Siguero: No
"The problem is the same as it always is, which is who would you take out? We've seen Vinicius Junior star with the Brazil Under-20s and you could be tempted, but I don't think Lopetegui thinks that way. There are many players ahead of him."
Hugo Cerezo: Yes... and no
"It's not the time to burn him. His record preparation time brought him to play twice with a very high level of demand and the place to grow should be somewhere else, not at Real Madrid where they've gone nearly seven hours without scoring. He shouldn't be getting more minutes in the league or Champions League, but he should get them in the Copa del Rey."
