According to Mundo Deportivo, renewing a deal with Jordi Alba is not Blaugrana's priority. The Catalan club is expected to open some sort of negotiations, but the player only has 18 months of his contract left, so there is a chance he might be lured somewhere else, whilst the talks haven't started yet.
The club has a plan to agree a renewal with Jordi Alba before 2018 ends, but it won’t be easy. Some of Europe’s big clubs have spoken to Alba’s agent and the two have been waiting on Barça’s promise in 2017 for an improved contract. It is understood, that Manchester United have informed Alba's agent Vicente Fores that they are quite interested in signing the player. Even though Luke Shaw's made a huge step up this year, Mourinho is still searching for some reinforcements at the left flank.

However, the Mancunians may face some competition, this time from their Champions League opponent – Juventus, who will need a left-back in case Alex Sandro leaves. Alba is considered one of the best full-backs in world football, having scored two goals and created seven more in 16 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions this season.
