Maurizio Sarri reportedly demands Denis Suarez transfer from Chelsea directors
- Mundo Deportivo claim that Sarri wants to sign Suarez for Chelsea after he failed to attract him to Napoli
- The Blues compete with AC Milan and Valencia for the player
- The Rossoneri only came up with a loan offer so far
- Chelsea rumoured to propose a loan deal with a buy option
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that Maurizio Sarri personally wants to see Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez at Chelsea.
The media insists that Sarri is 'an admirer' of the player and wanted to sign Suarez for his precious club Napoli. The Catalan newspaper also mentions that the coach hopes to sign the midfielder on loan with an option to buy.
However, yesterday British outlet Daily Mail reported that Chelsea are preparing to bid around £45m for Denis Suarez. It was claimed that the Blues are willing to compete with AC Milan for the player's services. The Rossoneri, however, are only considering a loan move as of now, and Chelsea expect to beat them with a serious money offer.
According to COPE, the 24-year-old turned down a lucrative offer from Chelsea this summer as he aimed to stay and fight for Barcelona's first team spot. However, players like Arthur, Rafinha, Carles Alena or Malcom are gaining prominence, and are now all ahead of him in the pecking order at Barcelona, while Denis remains to be left out of the squad.
"With Milan knocking on his door the midfielder may finally leave," Diario SPORT reported last month. Albeit, Chelsea and Valencia are understood to provide serious competition for the Serie A giants.
Denis Suarez has started his career at Celta before being sold to Man City at the age of 19, with who he spent two years. He then represented Barca B (2013/14), Sevilla (2014/15) and Villarreal (2015/16) before joining Barca's first team in summer 2016.
