Former Arsenal flop Lucas Perez sensationally linked with Barca
- The Catalans want a backup striker to replace Munir and provide cover for Luis Suarez.
- The 30-year-old is currently at West Ham but he has scored just four goals during the current campaign.
- He is 'desperate' to return to native Spain and could be potentially signed for just six million euros.
- Girona striker Cristhian Stuani and Chelsea star Olivier Giroud are other options to bolster Barca's attack.
It is true that Barcelona are looking for a proper backup striker who could replace recently departed Munir and provide potential cover for ageing Luis Suarez. Every day a new name is linked with the Catalan giants, however, it may now seem that the rumours have gone slightly out of control.
According to the Andalucia-based Estadio Deportivo, Barcelona are now keeping tabs on Lucas Perez, the former Deportivo and Arsenal striker. The 30-year-old is currently plying his trade at West Ham, however, it is obvious he has never managed to settle in the Premier League as he has only scored four times since the start of the 2018/2019 campaign.
Lucas is reported to be 'desperate' to return to his native Spain with Real Betis, Valencia and Atletico Madrid also allegedly interested. Perhaps, he could be the most affordable option as his current market value is just around six million euros. Nevertheless, his footballing qualities are less impressive.
Perhaps, Girona striker Cristhian Stuani is a better option. He has been in great form this season, with 12 goals in 17 La Liga appearances already. On top of that, the 32-year-old is available to play in the Champions League and his release clause is just €15 million. Moreover, Chelsea star and France World Cup winner Olivier Giroud is reportedly another candidate to bolster Blaugrana attack.
