- The 21-year-old star is considered to be a potential Luis Suarez's replacement rather than a short-term backup.
- He is currently on loan at Eintracht who are expected to sign him on a permanent basis only to sell him later to Barca for €35m.
- The striker has already netted 17 goals in all competitions.
Barcelona keep looking for a proper replacement for ageing Luis Suarez, as well as a potential backup striker to cover up for Munir who has recently joined Sevilla for 1 million euro. And, according to Cadena Cope, they have now identified the highly talented Frankfurt Eintracht striker, Luka Jovic as the perfect candidate to strengthen the Catalans' attack in summer.

The 21-year-old is currently at Frankfurt as his two-year loan deal from Benfica will only expire in the summer of 2019. That's why the Catalans are unable to secure his arrival this winter. However, Jovic has impressed Barcelona greatly and they want him to arrive on a permanent transfer rather as a short-term backup.
Cadena Cope explain the potential whole procedure of Jovic's arrival: first, Eintracht activate the purchasing option in his loan deal and sign him from the parent club Benfica for 12 million euros. Afterwards, they complete another transfer which would see the 21-year-old arriving at Barcelona in a 35 million deal. Barca director Pep Segura is reportedly monitoring this operation closely.
Last season Jovic only made total 27 appearances for Frankfurt, scored nine goals and provided two assists. This season alone, however, he has already played 23 times in all competitions, netted 17 times and assisted on four other goals. By the way, Jovic won the DFB Pokal and was included in Serbia squad to travel to Russia for the World Cup this year.
