Juve are allegedly eyeing transfer deadline signing of Gary Cahill
- Juventus are allegedly considering to pen the 31-year-old to boost their defenses
- The player himself makes it clear he doesn't want to be a benchwarmer at Chelsea
- The Black-and-Whites are in the middle of injury crisis, so the signature of the defender would be a welcome option
According to the latest piece from Sportitalia, Italian news outlet, Juventus could pull off emergency signing of Chelsea's center-back.
The player has taken part in only seven games this season, while Juventus have grown somewhat thin in the defensive department, after losing three centre-backs to different injuries.
Gary Cahill has recently opened up on how it feels to stay out of action this season: "Sometimes you have to make those decisions to keep going and progressing. First of all the team's doing well which is the most important thing. Having been a big part of things for six years, seven years and played a huge part, not just a squad player, I'm definitely finding it difficult this year to deal with that situation."
Given that Chelsea have a policy of not offering more-than-a year deals for players over 30, this might also become one of the key reasons for the centre-back to join some other club as he'd reportedly like to extend his contract for more than two years. His current market value is £9m according to Transfermarkt. As per Totalsportek, Cahill earns £130,000-a-week.
A solid addition for Juventus?
