Rakitic denies plotting any Barcelona exit: 'I'm more than happy here'
- The Croatian confirms he intends to remain at Camp Nou.
- He hopes his Blaugrana contract will be renewed well beyond 2020.
- PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United were reportedly interested in signing the Croat.
The Croatian continues being linked with a move outside the Camp Nou stadium, after a big-money arrival of the Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong.
Rakitic, however, seems to be bent on staying and hopes to see his Blaugrana deal renewed well beyond 2020. Daily Mirror quote the 29-year-old as saying: "Since I've been here I do not know how many times I've left and I'm back. I'm more than happy here and my intention is to be here longer. I gave the president a little nudge to see if he would wake up with my renewal."
Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea were reportedly considering signing the experienced midfielder.
Diario Sport, for example, argued that Maurizio Sarri wants to bring the Rakitic at Stamford Bridge to fill in Cesc Fabregas's place in the squad. However, they would have to activate his release clause, which makes up 125 million euros.
