'After all my time there, I thought he would have said something to me': Ex-Arsenal youngster Randall unhappy with how Wenger treated him

Mark Randall, a former Arsenal player who currently features for Northern Ireland Premiership club Larne, has discussed his exit from the Emirates in 2011.

"I was coming to the end of my contract, so I knew what was going to happen, but I was still gutted when Arsenal told me I would not be getting a new deal," he told Planet Football.

"I spoke to one of the directors, but I didn’t hear from Arsene Wenger at all, which disappointed me. After all my time there, I thought he would have said something to me.

"It is one of those things and you have to move on.”

Randall spent ten years at the club, joining in 2001 as a schoolboy and leaving in 2011 as a 20-year-old.

The midfielder made a total of 13 appearances for the Gunners, including two Premier League games.

After leaving the Emirates, he played in several lower-division teams and even went to Italy for a short spell with third-tier side Ascoli before the club went bankrupt.

Considered a bright talent in his early career and earning several caps for England youth sides, Randall has failed to live up to the expectations and currently plays in the Northern Ireland Premiership.
