'Champions League': David Luiz sets post-lockdown objective for Arsenal

Arsenal legend Ian Wright asked David Luiz what the defender looks forward to when life looks backs to normal after the pandemic.

"First, I want to check if everybody understood the social lesson," the 32-year-old replied.

"And then, after that, of course I want to be on the pitch, doing what I love, making people happy.

"If we play this season until the end, I want to try to be in the Champions League with Arsenal. Do the best what I have to do and what we can do for the club. So this is my wish."

The boss believes that the Gunners stand a chance for CL football next season:

It's quite unclear what the Brazilian meant by 'the social lesson' that everyone has to 'understand'. It should be noted that Mikel Arteta earlier stated that the pandemic is going to change society.

Speaking of the Champions League, while participation in Europe's most prestigious and lucrative competition is not a matter of survival for the Gunners, it is definitely the best way to deal with potential financial hits caused by the pandemic.

Provided that Arsenal have an over-inflated wage bill, the club even asked the players to accept a pay cut which will be reimbursed if they qualify for the Champions League.

It's not all about money, though. It is also about the awe-inspiring and goosebumps-inducing Georg Handel's music with the words 'The best teams' sang in English, French and German that it is still the most important thing for many fans.
