Bundesliga's plan to restart campaign on May 9 explained in 6 key points
  • 36 clubs of Germany's top two divisions plan to resume action behind closed doors on May 9 and finish it on June 27-28.
  • A maximum of 322 people will be allowed inside stadiums for Bundesliga games and 270 for second-tier matches (this includes players, coaches, referees, journalists, cameramen, doping control officers, stewards, groundsmen and ball boys).
  • Some strict hygiene measures will be introduced to ensure players health including pitchside sinks and regular testing of players for coronavirus symptoms at least on a weekly basis.
  • Pre-match handshakes and team photographs will be prohibited.
  • Footballers also face the prospect of washing their own kit to avoid contamination.
  • However, the final decision on the season resumption will come into force only in case the German government gives green light to it.

As for the Premier League, the projected date to restart the season is June 6.

Uefa have issued a 'strong recommendation' to domestic leagues to finish the current season.
