'Kronke worth £10 billion but Ozil gets the blame': ex-Wimbledon man Lionel Morgan sides with Mesut in pay cut scandal

"Kroenke [is] worth £10 billion but [Mesut] Ozil gets the blame," former AFC Wimbledon forward Lionel Morgan tweeted.

"The club can afford to pay its non-playing staff without players taking wage cut. Highest season ticket price in the world, huge match day revenue and a billionaire owner."

Arsenal players voluntarily agreed to temporarily reduce their wages by 12.5 per cent to help the club.

While the club's official statement did not mention any players keeping their wages in full, David Ornstein, a very reliable source, revealed that two footballers rejected pay cuts. He did not disclose any names, though.

Later, the Daily Mail claimed that there were three players who refused to slash their salaries and one of them was Mesut Ozil, the club's highest earner.

Of course, that resulted in a scandal in the media as every pundit has an opinion on this topic. Mostly, these have been negative.
