Arsenal said to be tracking 18-goal Monaco striker Ben Yedder

According to L'Equipe, a decent source, Arsenal are one of the clubs eyeing a move for Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder.

The Gunners' Premier League rivals Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United, and La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia are also believed to be interested in the 29-year-old's services.

The issue with any potential deal for the forward might be that he just joined Monaco in August 2019 after the Monegasques signed him from Sevilla activating the €40m release close.

The Frenchman's current deal at Stade Louis II runs down in 2024 while his transfer value remains at around €40m.

Here are some of the striker's best bits for the Principality side:

Ben Yedder has had an exceptional season so far despite Monaco's struggles. The striker has scored 18 goals and collected 7 assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances. He is the league's leading goalscorer along with Kylian Mbappe.

The 29-year-old was equally impressive at Sevilla last season as he played 54 games across all competitions, scored 30 goals and registered 11 assists, including 18 goals and 9 assists in 35 La Liga matches.

Arguably the best evidence of Ben Yedder's incredible form is the fact that he has become a regular for the insanely talented French national team. In 2019, the striker made 7 appearances for Didier Deschamps' crew and scored 2 goals.

In terms of playstyle, the Frenchman is considered an overall elite attacking player. His passing, dribbling, finishing and ability to hold on to the ball are much lauded. Aerial duels seem to be the only clear weakness of the 5'7 striker.

Should we splash the cash on Ben Yedder?
