Arsenal miss out on yet another transfer target as Watford confirm signing of Pape Gueye

Le Havre midfielder Pape Gueye, previously linked with a move to the Emirates, has joined Watford.

The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal with the Hornets and will move to Vicarage Road on July 1.

It appears that Watford have snapped the talented prospect for free as his contract with Ligue 2 side expires this summer.

Arsenal were linked with a move for the box-to-box midfielder, described as a mix of Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante, in February this year.

The player even hinted at a potential switch to the Emirates by commenting on Matteo Guendouzi's Instagram post.
