Leicester vs Arsenal preview: lineups, team news & predictions

⚽️ Team news and lineups

The Gunners have added Kieran Tierney and Cedric Soares to the injured list. Both should be fine for the Liverpool game at the weekend but will miss out on the action vs the Foxes.

We think Arteta will take this game seriously, especially given the underwhelming weekend performance. However, we can still see Aubameyang, Willian and Ceballos given a rest, at least from the first minutes.

Starting XI: Leno, Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac, Bellerin, Elneny, Xhaka, Niles, Pepe, Lacazette, Saka.

Brendan Rodgers will only be missing Ricardo Pereira (ACL injury) and Jonny Evans (last game of suspension). Wes Morgan and James Maddison recovered from injuries and made their returns in the 4-2 win over Burnley.

However, the manager also promised to rotate the squad and we won't be surprised to see some fringe players along with guys who need minutes. Our rough guess at the XI is below.

Starting XI: Ward, Justin, Morgan, Thomas, Fuchs, Choudhury, Amartey, Albrighton, Maddison, Gray, Iheanacho.

⚽️ Current form

Leicester City

Leicester 4-2 Burnley (20/9) West Brom 0-3 Leicester (13/9)

Arsenal

Arsenal 2-1 West Ham (19/9) Fulham 0-3 Arsenal (12/9)

⚽️ Predictions

Sportsmole: Leicester 1-2 Arsenal

"Arsenal are winless in their last three games against Leicester and have lost three in a row at the King Power Stadium. However, with both teams expected to rotate for this midweek cup tie, we can see the Gunners' squad depth telling in a narrow away victory."

90min: Leicester 1-2 Arsenal

"If these sides' first two games of the season are anything to go by then we could be in for a treat. The pair have scored 12 goals between them in their first two games of the season, yet they've both shown glimpses of vulnerability at the back.

"The inclusion of some players lacking match sharpness may curtail any hopes of a free-flowing game, although we can still expect goals with some quality attacking players on display. Arteta's men may just have that extra edge needed to progress to the next round."

Tribuna: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal

"Arteta will be looking to shore things up in defence and make this game a dress rehearsal for Liverpool - as much as one can prepare for that against a rotated Leicester side.

"However, we can easily see the Gunners go with the usual 3-4-3, especially since Nelson and Pepe on the wings give a promise of blistering speed. Leicester will find the Gunners hard to break down with little space to exploit and Jamie Vardy likely given a day off."
