- The ex-Gunner rues his wasted talent.
- He says money had spoiled him and, if he had a second chance, he would have done things differently.
"I became too fond of the lifestyle that came with the money," Nicklas Bendtner told The Guardian in an interview following the release of his autobiography, Both Sides.
"I want to go back in time and hit that young lad on the head with a hammer. Make him understand what a chance it is. That he has something special – something he has to look after.
"There’s definitely some regret I didn’t take my career in a more positive way."
His unquestionable talent did not prevent Bendtner from becoming a huge flop for Arsenal.
The Dane ended up scoring 24 goals in 108 Premier League games as his unprofessional attitude stopped him from turning into one of the best strikers in the world of football.
The 32-year-old has not played professional football after leaving FC Copenhagen in 2019.
